The Home Information Pack provides a certain amount of property information but our view is that this is not entirely the right kind of information that a house buyer wants and does not go far enough. The Property Log Book goes much further.
HIPs
Properties marketed for sale from the 1st January 2008, in England and Wales, will need a Home Information Pack. The Pack includes an Energy Performance Certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills. Also included are documents such as a sale statement, searches and evidence of title.

For new builds we can greatly reduce the cost associated with compiling a HIP.
Home Report
The Scottish Government is committed to reviewing the house buying and selling process in Scotland.
In a move approved by the Local Government and Communities Committee, as of from the 1st of December 2008 it is planned that properties for sale will have to be marketed with information, now branded as the ‘Home Report’. This is a pack of three documents a Single Survey (SS), an Energy Report (EPC) and a Property Questionnaire (PQ). The Home Report will be made available on request to prospective buyers of the home.

What does the Property Log Book do?
Turn your HIP or HR into a marketing and customer care opportunity with a Property Log Book. A Property Log Book will store as much property information as you want enabling you to market the property in a more positive light with a great deal more useful information. Give out controlled access of the Log Book to prospective buyers thus reducing the cost associated with producing paper HIPs. A property with a Property Log Book will be able to reproduce a HIP or HR far more cost efficiently.
The Property Log Book is applicable for both the HIP and HR saving our customers time, effort and money, providing one simple solution across two different legislative systems.
